"When I arrived at the Harvest House it was like a safe haven place. I felt safe to close my eyes and go to sleep and not think of the horrible things that happened to me."
~ Olma
Note: Olma was a resident at the Harvest House for over one year. She was homeless and picked up at a motel. She regained hope, and security and has a desire to live again. She recently moved out in faith to her very own one bedroom studio and in one week bought her own car. She is still a part of the Harvest House today attending woman's group meetings and also a donor. Other ladies currently living at the house stated they want the joy Olma Jean has. She has a big heart.
"The Harvest House brought me and my daughter under a safe loving home, offered us family support and the love of God that we need to walk through each day. The Harvest House gave me security and family structure through the program. I was given the tools I needed to walk in this life. Sharon and her daughter has moved into there own condo and enjoying life."
~ Sharon
Note: Sharon is still apart of the Harvest House group meeting.
"Becoming a House Leader at the Harvest House has helped me to find my destiny in encouraging other woman to become leaders."
~ Corrine
Corinne, came from the Bay Area Rescue Mission shelter to the Harvest House. She committed to applying all of the resources given to her, and learned many positive tools including leadership skills. Corrine now lives in Senior housing and is still affiliated with the Harvest House. She is now a House Leader for the Harvest House and is doing an excellent job in her leadership skills.
"Before I came to the Harvest House I was broken, hurting and in pain. My life was in turmoil. When you are down and out it seems that God opens another door. For me, that door was The Harvest House. Because of the help that I received from Trenny's gift of long suffering and her integrity, as well as her love for Christ, I was taught how to think positive, to set goals, to walk in love and most of all to love myself. She always taught that we were beautifully and wonderfully made. Because of this, I am now confident and blessed. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I am currently in college and I am doing well. Trenny is still mentoring me and I now have the privileged of giving back to the Harvest House."
~ Abbey
Note: One of the things that Abbey has been working on since leaving the Harvest House is finding resources and classes that are beneficial to her own well being and recovery so that she can introduce these to the Harvest House for their implementation.
Thank you Abbey for giving back!
